Before we start...

I want to give my usual political and religious disclaimers:

1. I currently rant about the Shrub, but when Slick Willie was in office, I ranted about him (we just didn't have blogs to do it on). I am equally annoyed with both political parties, the Republicans just have the misfortune to be in the driver's seat right now.

2. I am a dedicated Christian who believes that if you can't learn from everything, you can't learn from anything. I'm not afraid to say that some of my fellow believers are missing the point, and some people who don't believe at all are closer to Jesus Christ's vision that we are. I do think that God is not only there, but that He still matters and is worth taking the time to think about and talk to.

3. I am an unapologetic sauce bigot. No one makes a spaghetti sauce I like as much as mine, except maybe my wife. While I believe in "sauce and let sauce," the fact is, there can be only one true sauce, and that's mine.
